An electromagnetic flow meter, commonly called a magmeter, measures the flow rate of electrically conductive fluids using Faraday’s Law of Electromagnetic Induction. When a conductive fluid flows through a magnetic field, it induces a voltage that is directly proportional to the fluid’s velocity. Electrodes mounted across the pipe detect this voltage, and the flow rate is calculated based on that signal and the pipe’s cross-sectional area.
